Mallow has run Montessori since 2009. Same two centres in Melbourne: Caulfield East and St Kilda. Same educators, same Montessori practice, same families. A new name, for a brand built around the children who actually go here.

The room is the teacher. Every object in a Mallow classroom asks something of the child: the jug is heavy, the glass is breakable, the button frame takes patience. The environment produces the challenge, so the adult doesn't have to.

The mistake reveals itself. A spill tells the truth more honestly than any correction. We don't edit failure out of the day; we let the material teach what it was always going to teach.

Recovery belongs to the child. The educator's hand stays out. The willingness to try again is what makes the first try worth anything. Resilience can't be taught, only practised.

Joy is the diagnostic. Without it, every other practice comes unmoored. Grin is the smile after a kid scrapes their knee and wants to do it again. The felt sense that real work was done.
